Kids don’t always have the words to say what’s wrong, but they do express it through play. That’s why child therapy often looks different from adult therapy. At Alssaro Counseling Services, we use play therapy to help children process emotions, express themselves, and learn healthier ways to cope.
Through play, kids can:
Share what’s bothering them
Build emotional awareness
Learn problem-solving and coping skills
Feel seen, safe, and understood
Parents, You’re Part of the Process, Too
While your child meets one-on-one with their therapist, we also schedule separate sessions just for you. These “collateral sessions” keep you informed, give you tools to support your child at home, and allow space for your questions and concerns.
You know your child best. Together, we help them grow.
Big feelings can be overwhelming for little ones—especially when they don’t have the words to explain what’s going on.
Children may need therapy to cope with:
Anxiety, sadness, or anger
Behavioral challenges at home or school
Family changes like divorce, loss, or a new sibling
Social struggles or bullying
Through child-friendly, play-based therapy, kids learn to express their emotions, manage stress, and feel more confident in themselves. It’s not about labeling them—it’s about helping them thrive.
